An innovative real estate broker I know always hands an extra dollar
to the toll collector at the bridge and says, "I'd like to pay for
the car behind me as well. Please give him this." He hands the
toll collector a business card, and seven times out of ten, that
person will at least call to say "Thank you, you made my day."
Just think about this simple act of kindness. If just one out
of 200 people list their house with you, you can make $4,000 from a
very small investment. Just imagine how your name will travel
around as that person will likely tell a few people how some Realtor
paid for their toll today. You will be surprised by how many
people will do business with you just because of such simple acts of
kindness.
Ironically, the biggest problem most real estate professionals face
when implementing new ideas is NOT in executing the steps (that's
really the easy part), but rather in mustering enough courage and
faith to believe that this is possible.
I know that you have the desire to make a change. You wouldn't be
reading this if you didn't. But desire and belief are two different
things, and in order for you to make a quantum leap in your
business, you must first make a quantum leap in your thinking.
